Hello Hoopers!
February was quite the washout with all that rain on Sunday afternoons, but we did have one totally amazingly hot day out there that was mind bogglingly delicious, so here's to some more of that happening in March! After all, we leave Winter behind this month and move into Spring!
GET INVOLVED! While I've been IN town for quite some time on Sundays, starting mid-month I'm going to be out of town on weekends for five weeks which means there are great opportunities to be of service to Bay Area Hoopers on 3/15, 3/22, 3/29, 4/5 and 4/12. Please let me know if you are able to host one or more of these dates. What's required is for you to show up for the full two hours, try and be aware of new hoopers and introducing them to a few people, bring the sound system and help with any transitions of it (it's super easy to handle and on wheels now!), and that you (or someone else) has an ipod with some hoop sounds to share. Get involved and be a part of! Please let me know!
Here's our hooping calendar for March:
Sunday, March 1st: SAN FRANCISCO CIVIC CENTER: From 2 to 4 pm we'll be meeting across the street from City Hall, specifically on Polk Street between Grove and McCallister for those of you who haven't joined us there before. The weather report right now calls for a lot of rain on Saturday, and for Sunday to be clear. The Civic Center is a great spot this time of year because it dries out better than just about anywhere and even if the grass is all wet there's still plenty of space to hoop.
Sunday, March 8th: SNOW PARK (Oakland) - It's usually warmer in the East Bay so we're gonna take advantage of it! We've been having great East Bay turnouts at Snow Park in Oakland and we're all really liking hooping there so we're going back again. We'll be there from 2 until 4pm and it's just a short walk from the 19th St. BART Station at 19th & Harrison. Park info: www.oaklandnet.com/parks/parks/snow.asp
Sunday, March 15nd: HAYES/OCTAVIA GREEN - From 2 to 4 pm on Octavia between Fell and Hayes in San Francisco.
Sunday, March 22th: DOLORES PARK - It's Spring! Come celebrate Springtime from 2 to 4pm on the Dolores Street side of the park, typically by the palm trees between 19th and 20th.
Sunday, March 29th: PANHANDLE - Bay Area Hoopers hosts our regular 2-4pm Sunday hoop jam at the end of The Panhandle, specifically Baker Street between Oak and Fell at the statue.
Be sure to check in with your inbox prior to heading out in the event any of our hoopjams are cancelled due to weather.
See you all at some point this month!
SPINcerely yours,

Re: MARCH HOOPING CALENDAR/NEWSLETTER
Wed, March 4, 2009 - 11:22 PMPhilo, I can do March 29th and April 5th. I have a Prius. Will the equipment fit into my car? Also, can I give bonus time. Say, 12-4. Technically, I will be there at 2-4, but I would like to show up earlier if it's a nice day. Don't want to upset the apple cart so let me know what you think.

Re: MARCH HOOPING CALENDAR/NEWSLETTER
Sun, March 8, 2009 - 7:17 AMI'm coming to meet you all today for the first time :) I'm bringing my daughter, a hookah, food and friends for a picnic as well. There will be a friend of mine taking pictures, so feel free to show off a little :) :) I'd love to see your moves. Anyway, I'm the 5 foot girl with the asymmetrical haircut, and the green, yellow&brown hoop. Can't wait to see you all
